Acronis True Image 8 or 9 ???

Is TI9 that much better than TI8 ???

In physical form I get can TI9 for £30 and TI8 for £17 (incl. shipment), unless anyone knows of any better deals.

But is TI9 worth the few extra pounds or not?

BTW, I know I can get TI9 in downloadable form for £22.71, but I prefer physical (don't ask me why, but it's a touchy feely thing).

Running TI 8 here fine. TI 9 seems to be a lot more trouble than 8 was (from the offical forums).

Which ever one you get make sure you immediately upgrade to the latest version.

i've used both, and I'll say that in my opinion version 8 is the best- it offers the same features as 9 but with a clearer interface.

That's my pennies worth!

Another vote for TI8. It has been around for a while and is pretty well sorted.

Thanks for the input.

Have decided to go with TI8 (just under £17 all in from a few places, including Amazon.

I assume it's a mistake by amazon, but it doesn't list XP as supported by version 8... click here

Don't think that link here

I'd guess it's just a mistake on the page, 'cos if you click thru to System Requirements it shows XP.

Not only that I very much doubt that Acronis would have had a separate box distributed for diff. OS, even if diff OS setups are different. It would normally all be on the one install CD, it's not worth the hassle of doing otherwise.

Running Acronis True Image 8 build 937 on Windows XP Pro right here...
