Acronis True Image 10

  MICKY BOY 11:38 10 Jun 2007

Hi All,
Have had a problem as explained below. Acronis support team replied with the answer also below. Can any body explain to me in more detail how to retrieve my files as I don’t want to loose my saved files on my external drive F
I am not sure about the instructions "Run the following commands in the folder you saved the file to"

I would be grateful for help with Acronis advice procedure

Regards Mick

Have just reinstalled XP on my computer as some files had become corrupted.
Before this I backed up all my data to a external drive “F” using Acronis True Image 10.
Have tried to reinstall all the files from external hardrive using Acronis, but an error message saying “Failed to create the scheduled task Error 1722 – The RPC server is unavailable”
I have never used Acronis before to back up files. Has anybody any advice, as I cannot unlock all my program files etc
Any help would be great Mick.

Where did you download the file to?

If you downloaded the file to your desktop then you would need to type the following at the command prompt.

cd desktop

Then you can run what Acronis have said to run.

Start - Run - type

press ok

scroll down to Remote procedure Call highlight it ans start it (if not already started) do the same with remote procedure call locator.

Close services.

Now try your reinstall again.

It would seem that the error you are receiving can be fixed by doing what Acronis have said.

You should then be able to restore from your Ext. HDD.
