ACPI Compliant?

  wingfield 17:00 18 Apr 2005

I had to do a repair to XP Pro over the weekend and now when I start up I get a blue screen part of which says my BIOS isn't fully ACPI Compliant. What is this? It also says to press F7, when prompted, to bypass this, but I don't see anything which prompts me to do this during the start up. I can get round this by restarting and then everything's fine but it's annoying. I have a motherboard update service with MSI but I'm as upto date as I can be
Any guidance elsewhere I can find please??

In the Bios check that Power Options are selected - it most likely varies according to which producer you use.

Do a Repair of XP and, at the point where it asks about (IIRC) Raid which requires you to select F6, choose F5 instead.

From the menu choose APCI PC configuration or words to that effect; this will also allow you to use the Hibernate feature on an older motherboard. Proceed to conclusion.
