can somebody be so kind to help, my friend has brought me his computer because it keeps crashing.
windows defender and norton antivirus found nothing. an error at start up which i believe is the cause states the following before restarting.

windows explorer was closed. to help your computer, data execution prevention has closed windows explorer. before this it says windows explorer stopped working. this computer has vista home premium installed. safe mode has the same problem. i can not access system tools because computer keeps restarting before i can get at them. computer is an acer aspire 9300 series.

acer aspire 9303wsmi, 160gb hdd, 2gb ddr2. when i asked him what he had been doing he said he was watching porn, more than likely this started the problem. can anyone give me any help to get it sorted for my silly friend. any help would be appreciated. thankyou to all who can offer a solution.

fruit bat thanks for your advice much appreciated, i followed your advice for pre installed software which my friends computer has, what ever my friend has done is worse than i thought the problem is not as straight forward has it looks. i tried to use the advanced option repair your computer but after starting it stops and the following error report is displayed. windows complete pc restore incorrect function ( 0x80070001) i have asked my friend to look for the rescue disks or other disks that should have come with his computer which is only two months old and the paperwork he got when he purchased said computer, may have to take it back to the shop and have them do it, unless yourself or someone else has other ideas. i have run disk check no problems, anti-virus and antispy also say no problems which i dought is right. no memory problems either. any ideas apart from throwing it out of the windows which i feel like doing. 1 other thing i have found he has not got a restore point so can not do it that way. thanks for any advice.

thankyou to all who gave me advice on solving the problems mentioned in my post, i appreciate it. problem was found to be something called spylocked .com which causes system to keep rebooting this was discovered because i got the laptop to work by taking it back to its default settings by clicking ALT + F10 together found this out by going to techguys website to look for advice. spylocked .com downloads when you click on something called video activex and allowing it to get into computer which my friend did even though i fixed it he did it again and now has to go through it all again even though i warned him what would happen if he installed it. once again thankyou all for your kind advice.
