I am running Vista Home Premium on my Acer 5101AWLMi.My dvd drive will not recognise certain CD-Roms when I put them in the drive - one example is football manager. The drive does however recognise CD's that I've written files to.I thought there might have been a problem with autorun, so checked that for all media the pc would prompt me to run. This hasn't made any difference.Does anyone have any suggestions?Cheers, Chris
What version of FM are you running? Have you checked that it is compatible with Vista.
Don't think it's anything to do with FM. I also tried putting a normal music CD in the drive and it didn't acknowledge that there was a CD in the drive.
have you tried uninstalling the drive and then rebooting?
Yeah, tried that last night and it reinstalls the drive but still fails to work.
have you got the latest vista driver/firmware for your drive
I think the driver should be the most up to date. I've only had the latop for a couple of days.
