Accurate Broadband Speed Tester

  spuds 15:34 06 Mar 2005

Recently I changed over to the Tiscali 'upto 1mb' package. Making various speed tests, I find that I am getting different speed-test results, depending on test site that I use. So I am looking for a test site that can and usually gives 100% accuracy.

As an example, this morning I used three check speed-test sites, and these are the confusing results. Adslguide downstream 355/383 upstream 242/261. Testmy downstream 871 upstream 157. Abeltronica 916.40

This one click here is usually good.

Just read your thread properly. I usually get around 990Kbps, including overheads, at ADSL Guide and it never varies by more than around 10Kbps.

None are going to be really accurate,as net conditions change by the minute.I would only use one, especially if I was after tweaking the connection. Then I can see if I have improved/worsened the result.

Thanks guy's for the response. When I checked out the sites and got Abeltronica results, I was very surprised, there's me thinking 1mb. The speed of my internet connection today is fantastic, really fast. Hence my enquiry and speed checks.

stalion-- Thanks for the link. Forgot to mention the BBST test in my intro- download 361 up 241.

Will green tick, thanks again everyone.
