accessing msn.co.uk

For some months I have been using IE 7 to open with msn.co.uk with no problem. Yesterday when I clicked on IE7 I got the message "unable to access this site" with the usual suggestions. I am running XP SP2 on desktop and Vista HP on laptop where the same thing has happened. I can get msn.com, MyMSN and any other site I need. Is there a problem with MSN or is it me?
Thanks in advance for advice

Probably your Firewall blocking it,What A/V and Firewall do you have.

Try http: //uk.msn.com/ click here

Yes for some reason I copied it and pasted it on the top address bar and it shows as click here Its never done that before,I presume they must have changed it.

Buteman, I have Norton A/V and McAfee Firewall on desktop. Norton A/V and firewall on laptop. Haven't had any problems for months until yesterday.
MAJ I tried uk.msn.com but still no luck!

When I try msn.co.uk in the top address bar It just opens Google. So maybe something wrong just now.Hope that does not come up as a click here.

This from another thread,Maybe try some of those,But notice the fix at the end.click here Now I could only access Msn with the address that Maj shows.Norton looks like it may be the problem as you have it on both computers,It is usually a Firewall problem but with that click here it was his A/V

Yes it looks like they have changed the address,Went into Messenger,Clicked on take me to home page. And it is the same as Maj has.So maybe your Firewall or a/v has blocked the new address.

Or maybe your HOSTS file has blocked it. If you're using XP, go to C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc and open your Hosts file in Notepad. Look for an entry that might look like this:

127.0.0.1 http: //uk.msn.com or this
127.0.0.1 http: //www. msn.co.uk

and delete that/those entries, resave the HOST file and try again.

Note the HOST file has no extension, it's just "HOSTS", not HOSTS.MVP

Ok Popgeof tried it your way and just put msn.com and got it no bother. Now I saved it to my favorites and it works ok from there. So that may be your answer until you solve the problem.

Oops boobed again,That does not give you the UK version,It is the US version.Must be something down on the UK version just now.
