I presently use a Netgear router WGR614 I access the internet via a wired set up using one Vista home premium OS computer and a XP OS computer, both new machines. I did have them Networked to access the same printer but no longer. I'm going to build another computer, to be used for experimenting, from two old computers. I've never built a computer before. This computers OS will be Linex Ubuntu. My question is will I be able to access the internet with this computer through the router along side Vista and XP ?

i.e. I just connect the cable from the Ubuntu computer to a vacant router port and all three computers can happily access the internet ?

Thanks in Advance from Downunder

Thanks for the answer. I'll give building the computer from the two older ones a try. They are identical except one has a fried motherboard and the other has been cannibalized. I intend to use the rebuilt computer to try out Ubuntu Linux for a system comparison.
