Access and its default folder for databases?

Running XP Pro
Word has long had the opportunity to personalise which folder to find the saved documents.
I like this, and keep all docs and templates in a "Word" folder on another drive.

Access 2002 and its predecessors doesn't seem to offer this and insists on looking in My Documents first.

It is a trivial matter, but if someone knows a way to change this, I would be grateful.

Don't know if this will work as I did it so long ago. I created a new folder in My Documents, called Databases and when I saved a new mdb file I saved it in that folder. Access seemed to remember that for all subsequent ones - I think.......

I keep all my databases in one folder like Word and other things in what is virtually a data drive.

Corel Draw and Photopaint will remember (until I run CCleaner) which folders containing .cdr or .jpg I last opened,

Access (also shows the recent databases) but if asked to "Open", defaults straight to My Documents.
