Access Denied to External HDD!!

when i try to access my external hdd it says H:\ is not Accessible
Access is denied

can you please tell me how to over come this problem & fix it.

no i cant get this section Enabling the Security Tab in Windows XP
Like most other useful functions, the Security tab is not easy to find in the default Windows XP user interface. To enable the tab:

Open any Windows Explorer window.
From the Tools menu, select Folder Options.
Select the View tab.
Scroll down the list of Advanced Settings (sic) and unselect the option Use simple file sharng (Recommended).

Right click my computer - manage - disk management - right click H;\ drive and select properties.

how can i change permissions for disks ( HDD's) on Windows XP Home.

The Security tab is available in XP Home, but only when in Safe Mode.

So boot into safe mode and voila.
