Access 2007 Sorting problem

Hi all.

Linking my database to a mail merge - not a problem.

I have several columns in the database, I need two of the columns to sort A-Z.

If I sort one column A-Z and then do the other, it reverts back to the previous sort.

Column 1 contains A-Z of company names
Column 2 contains a list of first names
Column 3 contains a list of surnames
Column 4 contains a list of addresses

Column 1 must stay the same, A-Z of company names.
I need Column 3 to list surnames in A-Z ... BUT not affect the A-Z of Column 1.

Any ideas?

You would need to set up a query in the database to query your database (say, show all records) then sort the results by the Company name (ascending) then the Surname (ascending).

Now, link your mail merge document to the query instead of the table.

The query will show the table sorted by the Company name first (A-Z) then the Surname (A-Z).
