About:blank homepage hijacker

My homepage has been hijacked by the Abou:blank hijacker which also tries to fdo lots of other dubious things with my PC

This happened to me about a year ago and I succesfully manually removed it. So far have tried AVG, Mcaffee, Spybot and Adaware all of whom do not even detect it. Not sure if it is a new variant but all the references I can find to manually delting it refer to an infected file called Appinit.dll which can be located in
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Window using Reglite.

However reglite does not detect this file in this location.

Despite extensive google searching I can find nothing to help and am loathe to buy anti-virus packages whi purport to remove this if it is a new variant and they will not get rid of it.

Any assistive responses will be much appreciated

Thanks for the replies.

A-Squared seemed to fix it and all appears well at present. Cheers Hamish
