This could be caused by

1. Charger not working
2. Motherboard problem
3. Loose connection
4. Software issue

Take it back for checking if its only 2 weeks old...

Laptop Battery not showing Charging
1. Turn off the computer,
2. Take the battery out
3. Take out the power supply
4. Push the power button down for 30 seconds.
5. Reconnect power supply
6. Then the battery.
Should now show 100% charged. This is because sometimes the mother board gets static and this clears it and the reason it showed not charging was because it was fully charged.

If still the same then take it back

If you use the battery for while and then reconnect the AC adapter does it charge and show 100% ?

"96% not charging" isn't neccassarily a problem as if used on AC power once 100% charge is reached charging is terminated (you can not trickle charge Li-On cells), and the level allowed to fall naturally (due to self discharge within the cells) until a point is reached where the battery is again "topped off" back to 100%. That point is often at 96%.

i pulled power lead from the laptop and unpluged from the wall, waited 1 hour, pluged back in again and it now fully charged, happy day, thank you all once again.

Thanks Fruit Bat, your suggestion worked for me. My laptop was stuck on 98% not charging and now is up to 100% fully charged. I assumed the battery was on the way out, it's a couple of years old now. Simple when you know how eh?
