900 Celeron Against Pentium 500

I was looking at a few PC games today e.g and it stated Minimum requirements Pentium 500 Prefered Pentium 800.

I have a 900 Celeron is this better than the Pentium 500. I know there is 400Mhz difference but does the difference lie between the Celeron and Pentium.

What is the diff between Pentium and Celeron

Celerons are Pentiums internally. they differ in that they normally have less cache memory, and slower FSB - however that is at a particular point in the sales cycle.

Some later model Celerons have as fast a FSB and as much cache as earlier model Pentiums.

You can't just compare a Celeron with a Pentium - you can only compare one very specific model Celeron with another specific model Pentium.

Ok DieSse fair enough. Is a 900 Celeron better than a Pentium 500 for playing games?

Probably. Which Celeron 900, which Pentium 500?
