I intend upgrading the memory on an 875p Chipset motherboard. There are 4 dimm sockets. Currenly two of the dimms have 256 mb ram each installed I wish to install two more. It would appear that two of the sockets are vertical while the other two lie almost horizontal can anyone confirm if this is correct. I tried putting a little pressure on to straighten the horizontal sockets to vertical without success.

All motherboards are slightly different, state the make and model of your motherboard rather than the chipset and someone will help.

Thank you Totally-braindead
The motherboard is fitted to a Dell Dimension 8300 computer and is listed as:
Board: DELL Computer Corp.0G0728

click here this is the info from crucial for your PC, notice that the memory needs to be upgraded in pairs. Regarding the modules lying flat I've never seen this before, perhaps someone else who has a Dell can comment on this.
