720p or 1080p and connecting to computer

  bukkaz 23:10 22 Nov 2009

Will be buying an LCD TV shortly. Will be 32" because of room size. Is it worth the extra for 1080p? I'm thinking of connecting PC to the TV. What is the best way of connecting? The TVs I've looked at say they have a PC connection.
If playing games presumably the 1080p would look better but again is the difference in cost worthwhile?

If you have a blu-ray DVD player and play blu-ray disks 1080p can make all the difference. but as eedcam says there are no broadcast 1080p transmissions as yet.

On a screen that size, not sure you will actually see much of a difference between 720p and 1080p unless you are viewing it from about 6 inches away. I have a 37" 720p plasma and a friend of mine has a 32" 1080p LCD. The picture on my plasma looks much better from about 3+ metres away (on both BluRay and PS3 games).
