given its limited functionality. It may be handy for carrying around with your laptop, but a USB scanner like the Canon LIDE also needs no powerpack, and is not that much heavier. click here

Why limit yourself to 6"x4" prints and pay more?

In my experience, scanning is a task that is not done every day, so your portable scanner will probably soon get left at home.

Never mind — its just a hand sized portable photo scanner. Very small and light (170 g), with 2 Gbyte SD card, and runs off your laptop's battery.

If someone regularly needs to scan on the move, I guess it is worth considering, but for less money one could get a much better quality scanner that can also run off of a laptop battery.
