I recently received a DVD as a Xmas present this was the millionair quix prog.I tried to copy the disc but found out it was 5.2 on a 4.7 DVD
Is this a new technique to prevent copying or something new on the market. I'm too old and not interested in copying for profit etc but would appreciate a brif explanation
Thank you

It could be a dual layer disk they can contain more info.

Comerical DVD's are Dual layer which store 8.5 gigs of data

Check the back of the original box. It might say something about the disk. If it says Disc Format DVD 9 is a Dual Layer (8.4 Gb) disk.

You can get 5.2 Gig on a 4.7 gig disk if the compresion is right,it doesnt have to be dual layered.

Will have to check but I suspect its a 4.7G
and not a dual layer.
Will let you know but probably not till the evening
