404 not found

Can anyone tell me what "404 not found" windows explorer means,it keeps appearing in the form of a pop up?

404 not found is a server response, usually you get that within Internet Explorer, not windows explorer. Is it definitely "windows explorer" ?
I notice you didn't put windows explorer in the quote - was that part of the message ?

When does it keep appearing - when you are surfing web or just using your computer or when you start up?

Try running these to see if it cures your problem,if you are getting popups you may have a spyware/malware/virus infection.

Run your AV and click here

Check your security settings, if these are to high you can get this at a lot of sites

Next time this happens, right click on the window that has popped up and choose properties, then copy + paste the "address" value into the forum so we can see what the pop-up is trying to do.

Security settings seem to be ok but its not happening on this computer so I will do the copy n paste thing next time I'm on it and see whats what.Ta!
