2nd pc or laptop

lets say i want a second pc in a different room can i use the same line and modem? can i use a laptop and a pc in my home on 1 line and modem?
if so how,Please.

Firstly, what have you got in the way of Internet and who with and what is the name of any equipment you have eg a Modem or Router ?

i have AT&T internet useing Westell modem says DSL2+Router.
what i would like to do is have another pc in a different room,not to be used at same time.how do i do that?

I have a westell modem with 1 usb and 1 enternet plug. can i have 1 pc on usb and another on enternet? only 1 pc would be on at a time.

Your system should work in theory....I'm not well up on Broadband in the US, but another (cable free solution) would be to purchase a wireless Modem / Router.

You would need to consult AT& T to find a suitable model, but this would allow any wireless enabled PC to or laptop to connect anywhere in the home without the need for running cables.

Each PC / Laptop must be wireless capable, but most modern laptops come with built in wireless now, and cards for PC's are dirt cheap.
