2nd LAN connection?

I've just looked in my Network Connections (Win XP Pro SP3) and in addition to my usual LAN connection (connected) via my usual network adapter I suddenly have a second LAN connection (2) which also says connected and is via Microsoft TV/Video connection. Both connections have been running for the same time.

Can anybody throw any light on what this might be and where it came from? The PC is not connected to any TV or video.

Just a thought, have you a tuner card installed?

No - I haven't got a tuner card

I vaguely wondered if it could be related to the latest Windows Updates - although I always vet them closely before installation.

I'm assuming that I can just disconnect and delete the entry from my Network Connections- but it still wouldn't solve the mystery of where it has appeared from!

Before you disconnect try a reboot and see if it disappears.

Yes yes yes - did a reboot and it's disappeared

I don't know where it came from - but I know where it's gone :@)

Answer

I have discovered where the second LAN connection has come from - from my webcam

but the weird thing is I have had this webcam for five years, and this is the first time it has appeared
