Are there any risks attached to using a borrowed version of Microsft Office to install on a new laptop? I will have the codes etc.

  rawprawn 09:30 19 Oct 2007

Yes it's illegal, if you don't own the license.

As "borrowed" software...I'm afraid as rawprawn say's it's illegal.

Unless, of course, the person from whom you buy the software removes it from their computer/has never installed it.

  davidprc 12:54 19 Oct 2007

It is illegal so why not use Open Office or some other free or cheaper Office alternative?

  sandyg182 19:45 19 Oct 2007

Excuse me being the naive one here, but why does it make a differnce if the person who you buy it from has removed it from thier PC?

  woodchip 19:48 19 Oct 2007

When you buy software it can only be run on one PC when it's Microsoft at least

  sandyg182 19:55 19 Oct 2007

Legally you mean?
