20 or 24 pin connection to motherboard

I'm installing a MSI K8N Diamond motherboard into an Aspire ATXA8NW-BK/500 power supply. The power supply comes with a 20 pin and a 4 pin connector to the MB. It also has another, seperate, 4 pin connector which was not connected to the 20 pin connector initially, but which can be slid onto the end of it. The MB requires both a 24 pin connector and the 4 pin connector. Can I assume the extra 4 pin connector converts the 20 pin connector into a 24 pin one? The manual is more than economical with its information on this. I've also ordered a 20-24 pin adapter just in case. Any ideas much appreciated.

You use the slide on 4 pin to make it 24.
I have a similar setup on my power supply

Thanks - that corresponds with what I guessed anyway.
