I have brought a usb 'joystick' similiar in design to playstation controller to play games on pc. I prefer this to kboard and mouse. It says plug and play but tried to use it playing call of duty and there is nothing in options to select joystick. It came with driver but not installed this yet. Has anyone else used this type of controller on pc

Install the driver that came with it.

Uplug your joypad and then put the drivers disk in let this run through, my drivers for my joypad ask me to plug the joypad in at a certain stage yours may or may not. With USB devices thou it is normal to install the drivers first and then plug the device in

Does Call of Duty actually support the use of a Joystick?

I have just looked at the maunal and there is no mention of such.
