I have started getting a couple of ugly error messages; these are 0E:016F:BFF8E64B and USER.EXE
Has anyone any idea how I get rid of these easily?

what is your operating system and can you tell us a bit more of the error message. Also have you recently installed any software.

Try running AdAware click here or SpybotSD click here

AndySD: My Operating System is Windows ME. The 0E error message comes up on one of those lovely blue screens. I have only had it once, but am flagging this up as these problems tend never to go away. As far as new sofware goes, nothing very new. I'm downloading Adaware as we speak, though I don't really know what it does?!

Bretsky: Thanks for the link, I have used the site so fingers crossed no more USER.EXE messages!

Ta for the link which exactly replicates my error message, however, I'm not using a laptop!
