Have decided to buy a sony vaio, am down to a choice of 2 - one with a 1.66ghz processor and one with a 1.83ghz - will there really be much difference?

  Stuartli 23:04 04 Jul 2006

Depends on the rest of the specification - in normal use you are unlikely to be able to detect any difference in performance.

Top one without a doubt

  Helenasks 23:40 04 Jul 2006

woodchip -
Is there a partic reason why?

  woodchip 23:44 04 Jul 2006

Centrino Duo, the other look like a Pentium M.

It may be how you put them down. But that's how I see it

  woodchip 23:47 04 Jul 2006

Centrino Is based on old Pentium 2 I think it was and the CPU is better architecture. In other words better designed CPU

The battery will run longer given the same size battery

  Helenasks 23:48 04 Jul 2006

Excellent - thanks very much for your help.

do you have model numbers for a proper look at the systems, or links?

The second one looks a faster machine, although the top looks like it has better graphics. Although that again is not stated clearly in the second description.
