Brand new 160 GB HDD being used as slave HDD only showing 130 GB..installed no problem, any reason for the loss of 30 GB ???

There is a drive capacity issue at the 130GB capacity.

You may be running an OS or OS version that can't handle larger volumes - or it may be a BIOS/hardware issue.

Can you tell us more about you OS and version, and your system hardware please.

Have you looked in Disk Management at the drive size, partition details and status?

This should be set in the registry by Service Pack1

Can you check it please

What did you do to the new HDD when installing as slave?
In XP Pro can you change / manage partitions? If so can you just reduce the unallocated space and increase the NTFS Healthy?

Shows 137G not 160G or Higher
In Windows, click on Start->Run, enter "regedit".
# Navigate to the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\atapi\Parameters registry subkey.
# From the Edit menu, select New, DWORD Value.
# Enter the name EnableBigLba, then press Enter.
# Double-click the new value, set it to 1, then click OK.
# Close the registry editor.
# Restart the machine for the change to take effect.

This should be cured by an install of SP2 and all the latest updates.
