1394 cardbus/camcorder connection

a ? for the wiz people on here, i recently got the above card for my laptop too download movies from my camcorder but it don't work so i don't know if its the card in my pci slot, camcorder or lead any way to test, i don't have anything else that uses a firewire, will the card show up in device manager or what help help
the camcorder is a sharp vl-z400 the card is skd 1394a cardbus

The card should show in device manager, so if it isn't reseat it. You'll have a choice of 2 drivers; Texas and Windows (windows is better with some digi camcords.

My firewire card is listed as IEEE 1394 Bus host controller. I don't think your cardbus is a firewire card click here

in my device manager under pcmcia adapters it says pci 1410 card bus controller is that it so is not a firewire like you said, sorry for delay in reply
