11 on XP but only 9 installed. After a reboot managed to download the other 2 of them running 1 at a time just to be in the safe side. But all downloaded and updated now.

Notning on auto updates for XP today - yet. Odd!

I always feel safer downloading them manually ever since they gave me a bad audio update.
Mind you you would have thought that automatic updates would have responded first.

I think they send them in batches at different times over the 24 hours for auto updates?
Can't see how they could send them to every pc at the same time.

Auto updates are a bad idea 90% of what they send you does not apply and usually does more harm than good..

also 1 for office 2000, how many of ya still run this?

I'm still using Office 2000, including Word...:-)

In the case of updates, you appear not to know about Notify Me of Downloads But Do Not Install Them?

It enables personal choice of which updates you wish to download via Custom in the details menu.

  lotvic 22:59 11 Aug 2009

I use 'Notify Me of Downloads But Do Not Install Them' and do custom install

Another O2K user here. Does want I need and is probably lighter on resources than later versions.

Have used 2003, but much prefer 2K.

Really don't see a reason to change.
