Where do I save patches too?

I have a patch that i need to improve a game, But where excatlly do I save the patch to so It works with the game?

You can download a patch and save it anywhere on your pc or use straight from a disc if it came that way.
They are self executable,so all you do is double click it and it will detect the game and install itself automatically.

This just doesn't work! I have game patches that do not automatically download and so I don't know where to save them to. This answer doesn't solve the problem at all!!

I created my own folder called my patches and save them to there. mrwoowoo is right you can save them where you want it doesn't matter. Most patches do not download automatically you have to click the download button then chosse where to save.
They also do not install autmatically you bave to click or double click to run them. Some will unzip you need a progam such as winzip,and again you have to specify a destination. Then click either run, install or set up.
