This started happening a month ago, where my computer would crash and reboot whenever I play games (Like Far Cry 4 on max settings, or Skyrim with mods at max settings)

Anything from the event viewer at the time of the crashes? The error codes might provide some insight

Also alot of these before that one

  FallNight64 17:08 11 Apr 2017

whilst we're at it, it I also cant open any windows applications now (settings, start menu, photos, etc)

  FallNight64 17:11 11 Apr 2017

I think this is the reason for the window apps not working, it happens anytime I try, though I have no idea what to do for it. Thanks in advance. Also I think we can rule out the overheat I believe, the pc crashed when it was 52 when playing games, but didn't crash at 70 later,

Here is some help for the windows app crashes - give the solutions a go, no guarantees but it's a good place to start (click here)

As for the full crashes, it seems like it might be a hardware issue (kernel power id 41 usually is). Find one, and click the details tab towards the bottom of the screen. In the EventData section there should be a BugCheckCode, what is the value next to it?

this is what happens on step 5 on the window app topic. when I go to change the colour in personalisation, this happens
