Hi, I have an Xbox 360 Elite console, with an intergrated HDMI port. It's hooked up via HDMI to my Sony KDL20S3000 20" TV. However, I am unsure of which HDTV settings to use in the Xbox Dasboard Display Settings Menu. From trawling the internet (namely Google) I gather that 720p is better for games than 1080i, due to it being progressive and not interlaced. Is that true? However, I also read that because I have a HDMI port and cable, I can select "Optimal", which the Xbox then outputs a resolution that is as close to my TV's natural resolution as possible. When selcted it puts out 1360x768 on my 1366x768 TV. However, when selected I'm told it can only do 60Hz, not 50, as my display does not support it. Does that mean when watching Standard DVD's and Xbox Original games, it is not being properly upscaled? I also feel the colour quality is lower when Optimal is selected. Basically I need someone to give me the lowdown on all these confusing HD settings. Thanks.
