Using lcd-tv in USA

I am considering buying an LCD-TV. One of my concerns is that I could move to the US in the next year, and obviously want to be able to use my tv there as well. Many tv's have NTSC playback, but that is being descibed as being able to playback US DVD and Video content. Does that also mean though that I will be able to hook my tv up to satellite/ cable in US and watch everything. I think it is, but want to confirm before I shell out the money. Will be a waste of time and money. Broadcast standards are different, so the Tuner won't work.
U.S uses 120V 60hz we use 220V 50hz.
You will get bigger screen size for less money in the U.S. so why bother shipping anyway?
