Using camera film function

I have had a Kodak EasyShare DX6490 camera for some time, and I am very pleased with it. However when I use its filming function, on playback I sometimes get a noise that I can only describe as being like a morse code transmitting machine on the audiio. I guess that it has something to do with the video stabilising activity of the camera, but does anyone know how to disable it, or whatever is making this noise?

Is the camera set to Continuous AF (auto focus)? if so that may be your problem, try turning it to Single AF and record a little video to see if it is quieter.

Most Digital cameras turn off continuous autofocus when using the Video function. The focus is set when you start filming, unlike true Video cameras which adjust focus continuously.
