static ip address,good or not?

hi folks ,has anyone got an opinion as i am cosidering getting a router so i can download faster,bt tell me i can go to 3-4mb from my 1.

..none of your post seems to be to do with a static up address apart from the subject.

They are not 'good' or 'bad' just different options depending on what you want. With static I suppose you can register a dns name to point to it, but you can even do that with dynamic. Static is good if you want to setup a VPN or some sort of connection where the other end knows your IP address and you don't want it to change.

For day to day web surfing I don't see it being any difference.

It certainly won't impact your speed or anything else you mention.
