Sony Network Walkman

I am really dissapointed with the battery life of my Sony Network Walkman NW-E99.

Using the Sonic Stage file conversion I should be getting 70 hrs continuous play.

I am getting nearer 15!

I phone the "help line", but the bloke could only ask whether I was using Sony batteries and warn me that if they could find no fault, I would be charged a service fee.

How are other NW-99 owners fairing?

The quoted battery life in based on absolute optimal conditions and will very rarley be achieved.

I've noticed the thing that drains my MP3 player (Zen Micro) very quickly is skipping through the tracks and menu. If I just leave it play through the tracks itself the battery lasts much longer.

I think I will put a fresh "proprietory" battery in and leave it running, to see how long it actually goes!
