Opinions on Arcsoft PhotoStudio

A friend of mine just bought a digital camera and the above software was bundled with it. I haven't used it, so I would appreciate some opinions from those who have. I would normally provide him with some free software - GIMP or something like that - but how does Arcsoft's product compare with the free alternatives? Ease of use is a factor.

I guess its a Canon. I have it and its OK but basic. I have used it now and then but not as a matter of course.

Cheap and easy to use is Adobe Photo Elements 4. The bundled software will do the basics, and thats all...

Cheap is okay, but free is the requirement here. Besides, if he was paying, I would suggest PhotoImpact, which is more powerful than Elements.

Anskyber - thanks for your feedback.
