A new monitor for photography.

I want to update my LG flatron monitor. I would prefer the new one to be at least 19" in size.
I have looked at several recently ie; Gateway FPD2185W 21", LG Flatron L204WT and many others and the more I look the more undecided I become. (Reviews for the Gateway went from 6 stars to zero). Would someone recommend a monitor that they are using. I could spend up to £350 if pressed.

Have a look at this one, looks very good value. I would have considered this on, but recently bought the Formac Gallery extreme 20". I am heavily into photography and upgraded from an LG 19" to the Forcam, I must say I'm highly delighted with it.

The main programs I run are Photoshop CS2 and Adobe Lightroom

Back in March PCA recommended Philips 1190X6
On the strength of that I got one-
Its a beauty

But they change all the time of course and are now very reliable and most give a dead pixel guarantee

That should read

Philips 190x6

You also need to check out your system's Colour Management settings and, possibly, the Kelvin colour temperature used for the monitor configuration. See:

Monitors can be colour calibrated using software such as:

or the Microsoft offering:

On reading through this again I realise I did not provide the link for one of my suggested monitors click here

One thing to bear in mind a 19" gives you the same resolution as a 17", so if you can afford 20" or larger then my advice is to go for it.

The upgraded from a 19" LG to the Formac and the difference was really obvious, my photos look so much better.

The Formac as the name suggests is a Mac type design and looks stunning.
