if a phone is described as >> Bluetooth, Colour Screen, Email / Web, GPRS, GPS, Java enabled, MMS enabled, Polyphonic ringtones, Streaming video, Vibration does it mean its capable of global positioning read-out or not ?

The only phone that is coming out shortly that has inbuilt GPS will be the Nokia N95. It is due out end of this month end of next. Prices are forecast to be high, and it will most likely only be free on the highest tariffs.

There are other phones that have the Symbian OS platform which can support GPS with a bluetooth GPS receiver: Phones such as Nokia N70, N73, 6600, 7600, 7610, 3250, N93, N91, Sony Ericsson W950i, P990i. Tomtom mobile 5 which has the receiver, should cost around £90 (at least that is the price in CPW).
