itunes - more than one user

My girlfriend an i share a PC and both have ipods. We have fairly different tastes in music (but with some overlap) and her ipod is 4gb while mine is 30gb. At the moment we both log into itunes separtely and both have different libraries - if we both want the same cd I have to load it twice - once to my itunes and then to hers - this is obviously a pain in the a*s and is using up memory. I've tried copying files using microsoft explorer or whatever its called but itunes doesn't seem to recognise them - this would save the hassle of loading a cd twice but wouldn't save memory.
Anyone got any advice on how i should set all this up?

You do not need to load it twice -load it into yours and then in your girlfriends iTunes go to File > Add to Library and point it to where you saved the song.

Thanks bremner - that works fine and I am already being given instructions of what to copy. Would I be right in supposing that it is still creating duplicates though?
