Ink cartridges for Canon iP 4300

  tardis100 11:52 21 Dec 2007

I am considering buying the Canon iP 4300 printer and it seems to have 2 black cartridges – one described as CLI 8BK and then another described as PGI 5BK (all the colour cartridges have the CLI prefix) can anyone explain the significance of the 2 blacks please?

One is used for colour rendition like printing pictures. The other is used for general text printing of routine documents.

I have used this site for about 3 years without any trouble with the inks. click here

another question about the iP4300: My color printing is off. white prints as black and vice versa, colors are not what they appear to be on the screen, I mean not even close. I tried to do some calibration in the printing properties submenu, but it does not seems to make drastic enough changes in the printings. any advice?
