Some of you may know that there is an application called Carrier IQ which is stored under a few 'layers' on some smart phones, which detects everything you do.
How can I find out if this is stored on my phone? If it is, then can I take any action in terms of privacy laws etc?
1: https://market.android.com/details?id=com.lookout.carrieriqdetector&hl=en to check for the presence of carrier IQ.
Try again... new link

Thanks for your response.
I haven't tried removing it yet because I'm not very technically minded. It just seems to be a complicated process!!
Anyway, when (and if) I manage to detect the Carrier IQ on my phone, can I take any action in terms of privacy laws etc?
