Been looking at HDMI monitors for a computer surprised that the HDMI leads are not included. And was quoted various high prices for a lead and was told they come in three grades grey-black-white.

white top quality for tv, grey and black poorer pictures for computers.

can anyone explain anything on these leads as the girl in PCW was lost too.

anyone recommend a 24" hdmi monitor they have.

spending lots of money on hdmi cables can't be justified. Provided the cable and connections are reasonable quality you won't see any difference between (say)a £5 lidl cable and a £100 monster one.

That's my opinion anyway!

thanks, seems to be a chance for retails to claw back cash as none seem to include a lead.

In the US every type of electronic Audio /Video Equipment now has a HDMI port and

a low cost cable start at $35 or £22

In the UK the price can very from £6.95 - £186.70 for a 5m HDMI cable

I've read that, (I think I'm getting it right), that better quality leads have lower gauge (AWG) numbers, as they gave better shielding. Is that so?
Do they give better performance in any respect, for instance handshake between equipment?

gogmagog

I was told at the electrical shop its to do with shielding, I was given a 1.3a rating which i was told was average and would be ok.
