Gadget guru's, good media storage player for TV ?

  jon_hoggy 22:04 27 Mar 2007

I saw the '250GB Lifebox TV' media storage hard drive advertised in Maplins latest flier and i quite fancied having a media player that i can transfer movies/tv episodes/music via the pc and then connect to my TV. I can't find any reviews for the Lifebox, does anyone know of, or can recommend a good multimedia player that can do all of the above (compatible with MPEG4) that has reasonable hard drive storage and good connectivity for a TV and 5.1 sound system ??
i'm a bit clueless, thanks :-)

I know Freecom do one that plays mpeg4/divx etc. It works as a NAS storage too for connecting to network or via USB, and has component and composite video, stereo audio out as well as coaxial and optical audio outs. Available in sizes from 160 to 320gb.

Hope that helps :)

Thanks for the info, the Freecom looks good with excellent connectivity. Are they well rated ? For that price tho, i might have expected HD compatibility, but one to consider definately.
