FreeSat - What does Humax offer other

I am a complete newbie to all things Satellite.
I have Sky+ system(Dual LNB - I believe).
If I decide to go for Freesat what does a decoding
box from Humax give me over the standard offerings.
(There are a lot of techies raving about them but cannot decipher what the benefits are)

Would it for instance, give me access to both the
Freesat channels and the Sky Freesat channels (and others ?). If it does pick up Sky Freeview would I need a Sky Freeview Card or some form of substitute.

you have everything you need. There are more channels than you can shake a stick at.

If you want a Freesat box the Humax FOXSAT-HDR is the one to go for. It's expensive, but very good.

You'll need two feeds from your dish if you want to record on the Humax as well as watch a different channel, and added to the two feeds to the SKY box that means you'll need a quad LNB. if you only have a dual you'll not be able to operate both boxes.

click here and you'll see a list of the available Freesat channels

last week I replaced a Humax Foxsat HD receiver and Humax 9200T recorder with a Foxsat HDR As FE says you will need 2 feeds from your sat dish, easily done with a 4 way LNB ( I have sat TV on a PC as well)

Humax products, and I have used quite a few are simple to install and give excellent viewing quality. Recording on the HDR is about as simple as one can make it-and you can record HD TV too. I had considered SKY but on principle refuse to give Mr Murdoch one penny if I can avoid it. The Humax HDR is a bit dear but you can find them for around £250. Also try the Humax site as they often have refurbished items for sale with warranty at lower cost. My Foxsat HD was one and worked perfectly.
