edit quick time video

  steve263000 09:54 21 Oct 2006

I have taken a movie with my digital camera and after downloading it to my computer, I want to edit it a bit, and cut a few bits out. Windows movie maker will not recognise it as a video, and nor will another one that I tried. It opens and plays in quick time.

Can you point me towards a editor that will let me mess with this, and alter it? (free hopefully!)

You could try using a Video Conerter on your AVI files then editing in another format. Have a look at these click here=

Thank you Vangaliska. I have downloaded it, and will give it a go later.

I downloaded the file, but it will only convert 20% of the file before payment is asked for. As I only want to convert one file at the moment, that seems exessive. Are there any more out there?

Sorry about that, "Free Download" is NOT the same as Free Program!!

It must be me, but I could not make any sense of the first one. I will probably have to purchase a cheap one somewhere. Thank you all for your help.

It wasn't just you. I've been looking for something similar, and I couldn't make sense of either of the first two either!

Have you tried "importing" the video using Moviemaker, directly from the camera? (as opposed to downloading it into a file on your hardrive as your initial message suggests).
