archive pix show same thumbnail and out of focus

Trawling through my archive images taken over the past years to sort and place in new areas.
A file containing images taken in 2004 showed the same thumbnail through out.
This thumbnail image does not relate to any of the images in the file.
When the file is access the correct image displays but it is hopelessly out of focus or blurred.
These images are on an external hard drive.
And it applied to this one file - earlier images and later/current images display OK

Thumbnails can be problematic at times. One possible fix for this particular bug might be found by deleting the thumbs.db database file from each affected folder and/or their parent folder, which will prompt their re-creation when they are next needed. It's a hidden file. My suggestion assumes XP Home -- oddly, XP Pro seems not to create thumbs.db files. It might apply to Vista, too, but I can't comment about that.

Thanx Kemistri I though thm.database will have a poke around too to see what can be seen[or not].
