Xbox 360 controller for use on pc questions

  davidwilliams85 18:22 16 Jan 2007

Few questions about this control pad which I consider to be the most comfortable controller I've experienced (but only on xbox).

Just wondering if I require ay sort of apapter to be able to use a 360 controller or if it just uses usb??

Also would it be possible to use it as a remote for other programs not just games, such as media player and shutting down windows?? (this is because I use my pc to watch tv and dont sit within mouse clicking distance)

Any other controllers i should be thinking about instead??

Many thanks

XP supports use of a 360 controller for games, though I think you'll have to download a driver. Vista certainly supports the 360 controller for some other applications: I saw Bill Gates use it to swoop over a Virtual Earth page during his CES keynote, but whether that functionality applies to other apps and parts of the OS I don't know.

I was given a Saitek P2900 wireless, dual stick, pad for Christmas, works very well for me.
