Hi

Can anyone recommend a good wireless router for under £50?

Are Thomson 585 v7's any good?

Thanks

Thomson/Alcetal do make good products, but do a Google search and also check the Thomson website for possible known problems, before making a purchase.

A further tip perhaps. Do not purchase any opened boxes from computer retail outlets, they could be customer returns for whatever reason!.

More than happy with my 585. Much better than the Netgear I had before (although others swear by the NG!).

I have had a Netgear 834G for 4 or 5 years now and it has never given me a single problem in all those years. The wireless range is good too, we have computers upstairs and down and all receive a good strength signal.

Me too, have always used NG834G with never any problems.

Thanks. I see with Be Broadband you get a free wireless modem when you sign up.

Worth a try or waste of time??

Quite a numbert of ISPs will give you a wireless modem if you sign up for a minimum contract, usually 1year. click here to compare the various offers around at present.

I use the same Belkin model as harps1h. Brilliant bit if kit. No faults at all with router and I would thoroughly recommend it

+1 for the NETGEAR DG834G.

Had mine for a couple of years now.
