Hello,

I am looking for a Bluetooth PPC-based solution (i have an iPAQ 3970)
and need EU maps, at least UK, France and Switzerland.

What is the best solution for

SOFTWARE:

EU MAPS:

GPS Receiver:

Here after 3 Bluetooth GPS packages available in the UK that seemed of
some interest:

Fortuna NavTech UK & EU Maps with Bluetooth GPS: £170

Cheapest solution, comes with EU maps (NAVTECH), good receiver, works
on PPC and PC.

Tomtom Navigator 3 Bluetooth Kit: £193

Apparently Tom Tom is the reference for software interface.
But it seems the standard Tom Tom packages lack the detailed EU maps
(UK Detailed and European main roads, TELEATLAS)
Am I wrong?

Navman GPS 4410: £225

The GPS 4410 comes complete with Navman's New Smart ST Version 2
Navigation software (TELEATLAS) and all EU maps.

Thanks in advance,

You are correct with Tom Tom only having major EU roads as bought, but you can purchase individual country maps from their website.

No experience of CoPilot Live sorry.

Have a look at click here in the Reviews/Labs section at their Feb 04 GPS hardware/software roundup, there's a comprehensive list and rating of a few GPS units there.

Personally I spent a long time looking at the options before deciding on Tom Tom and I have not regretted it, however I had no need for detailed maps of Europe which would cost extra.

Spend some time click here and I'm sure you wil get all the info you need.

Seems that CoPilot Live Pocket PC 5 from ALK could be out soon and that it could be a winner.

Got this information from click here editor

They did choose CoPilot Live 4 software for this unit.
